The transition from writing in pencil to wielding a pen for the first time marks a defining moment in a student’s academic journey. To celebrate this significant milestone, students of Grades 5A, 5B, and 5C gathered in the GIIS KL auditorium on August 17, 2026, for a memorable Pen Ceremony.
The ceremony was thoughtfully organized to encourage and inspire the young learners as they stepped into a new phase of their education. Deeply rooted in core educational values, the initiative aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, while reinforcing key aspects of the 9 Gems framework, including Personality Development, Universal Values & Ethics, and Community & Care.
The atmosphere in the auditorium was filled with excitement and pride as parents joined the school community to witness their children reach this crucial milestone. In a heartfelt gesture of encouragement, the Principal and Vice Principal personally presented each student with a customized pen engraved with their name, signifying trust, responsibility, and academic growth.
Adding vibrant energy to the celebration, the students took to the stage to showcase captivating dance performances, making the occasion even more festive and memorable. The warm presence of families underscored the strong bond between home and school, enriching the collective sense of pride shared by students, parents, and educators alike.
The event concluded with an inspiring address reminding students to embrace this new responsibility with confidence, care, and pride. Equipped with their personalized pens, the Grade 5 learners left the auditorium ready to write the next chapter of their learning journey with clarity and ambition.
